JAMES YOUNG CLEVELAND resided at Embden Maine to Oct. 16, 1850, Jordan, Green co., Wisconsin, to Nov., 1866, and afterward at Monroe, farmer. He was greatly esteemed by his townsmen, and honored with various offices. For 14 years he was Justice of the Peace for Somerset co., Me., under appointments of Governors Lincoln and Kent. He was elected magistrate in Jordan and served 6 years, and was for several years Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Jordan. He was a leading citizen and prominent in the affairs of the town.
