Hon. Jesse Franklin” Cleveland was a member of U. S. Congress, Representative from the Dekalb District of Georgia for 4 years, from 1836 to 1839, but subsequently removed to Charleston, South Carolina, where he became a merchant, and died. U. S. Register, Blue Book, 1837 — Congress: Cleveland, J. F., Decatur, Ga.

Hon. Jesse Franklin Cleveland was highly esteemed, and very popular with his constituents. He is well remembered to this day by all the elder members of the Southern Cleveland Family. The plate portrait of Hon. Jesse Franklin Cleveland was contributed to the Cleveland Family Genealogy by the Hon, William Choice’ Cleveland  +16636.
