Let’s look at what’s really happening
in Houston schools.
300+ High Schools
Very different outcomes
Not all students start at the same place.
This pattern is not unique to Houston.
We see the same structure across Texas high schools.
This is not a rule – however, it is a clear pattern. This is not about one school – it is how system is structured.
Schools with fewer resources tend to have lower average SAT scores.
75% of Schools have an average SAT < 1000
Education may be priceless
However it does have a cost.
Public schools often serve students under very different resource conditions, and that difference shows up in average SAT outcomes.Same cost to families. Very different school resources. Very different outcomes.
Public schools often serve students under very difficult resource conditions, and that difference shows up in average SAT outcomes.
Same cost to families. Very different school resources. Very different outcomes.
All four paths can lead to a great life.
But not all students start at the same place.
And not all paths are equally built.
Hope does not disappoint.

"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth"

So build a plan that can survive reality.
And it's OK to change Plans.
The Real Question
What will your life actually look like
after High school?
How much can you earn?
How stable is that path?
Different paths don’t lead to one outcome
— they overlap.
